The Hemnet House or, the House of Clicks, is Sweden’s perfect home. A Swedish online housing portal called Hemnet collected data from more than 200 million clicks for nearly a year. About 20% of Sweden’s population voted on more than 86,000 home listings until finally, The Hemnet House was chosen.

The idea for the Hemnet House was to create the ultimate image of democracy. By going to the public, they’ve successfully built a home by the people, for the people. Tham & Videgard, the renown Swedish architecture firm, is the Hemnet Home’s ultimate creator. They describe the home as “a fusion between two iconic types.”

“The house is in short based on two parts: first a direct interpretations of Big Data statistics from all the Hemnet users, an average value that determined the measurable properties of the home, including size, price, number of rooms, bathrooms and floors.”

Tham & Videgard then added “The red wooden cottage that represents history, local resources, crafts and national building traditions, and the white functionalist box which stands for modernity, optimism, industrial development, the welfare state and international ideals.”

What makes the Hemnet House the perfect house?

Though the outside of the house looks a little bland, it’s a whole different world on the inside. The house includes a bathroom, guest WC, three bedrooms, and a large kitchen with high ceilings. The total floor space is around 1,115 square feet.

The Hemnet House promotes natural light with skylights and big windows. The home also includes a terrace that’s protected from the wind and can be converted into an additional room if needed. The home is also surrounded by a modest garden plot.

Staffan Tell, the spokesperson for Hemnet, says that the project was inspired by a simple and straightforward goal. “It really was an experiment driven by curiosity,” Staffan tells Business Insider.

The anticipated listing price will be around $345,000. Staffan Tell says that whether that’s affordable depends a lot on where potential buyers live.

“If you’re close to Stockholm where prices are highest, that would be considered very modest. But if you’re somewhere far up north, that would be a high cost.”

Construction started in the spring of 2016 and is due to be finished soon and put up for sale.
