In the southern Fujian Province in China 1,500 workers reportedly built a railway station in just 9 hours. 7 trains and 23 diggers were used in the construction of the Nanlong Railway Station in the city Longyan, China.
Work began on the railway station at 6:30pm on Friday, January 19th and was completed by 3:30am on Saturday, January 20th.
The 1,500 workers were split into seven different units that each took on seven simultaneous tasks, according to Zhan Daosong, a deputy manager at China Tiesju Civil Engineering Group, the country’s top railroad construction company.
The mission:
- Connect all 3 major railways with the new one.
- Install traffic signals.
- Install monitoring equipment.
The high speed railway when completed sometime near the end of 2018, will be around 152 miles long. This massive railway will be the main link of transportation between the south east of the country and central China. The railway is designed for guests to comfortably travel at speeds of up to 124 MPH.
With the high speeds of this railway it’s said that it will shorten the trip from the Northwest of Fujian to the Southwest of Longyan from a grooling 7 hours to just 1 ½ hours, according to Xinhua.
The Nanlong Railway will also be an important transportation link between the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta.
An aerial video released by Pear shows the construction workers connecting the 3 major railways, the Ganlong Railway, the Ganruilong Railway, and Zhanglong Railway, with the new Nanlong Railway. It also shows them installing the traffic signals and a series of traffic monitoring equipment.
